MobileScan3D

MobileScan3d is an extremely fast portable measuring and scanning solution, using state of the art PointMaster V5 or Geomagic Reverse Engineering and Verification Software.

It has the ability to automatically non contact scan with full CNC control using a very simple operator user interface. In fact anyone with a little training can use this amazing and unique product.

There are many portable scanning solutions on the market these days, but almost all have human influences on the actual measurement results, these may be small but can cause inconsistency in measurements, with the time taken to scan, can cause fatigue to the operator due to the manual operation.

Our research over the years and real customer feedback has indicated that most companies would like to have a portable measuring and scanning solution without the “Human Influence” on measured results.

MobileScan3D has been carefully designed with all these factors in mind, and now we can proudly present a very new product which is not only portable, but has full 3 axis CNC capability which scans many millions of points using a red laser stripe at unrivalled speed and precision. A rotary table in available an an option to assist in full CNC scaning of components.

MobileScan System

The system is based on three intercahngeable scanning heads mounted onto a tripod. Each head depending on part size and accuracy required can be easliy interchanged within a few minutes.The system is controlled via a PC and a small portable controller. Scans are created and then post processed using the Wenzel Pointmaster software or as an option Geomagic.

Accuracy
The Mobilescan3d compared to other Scanning systems is very accurate. There ae three size of scanning head available, depending on application and accuracy required.

Application Example – Turbine Blades Turbine blade inspection poses some unique challenges, such as analyzing the twist of a newly manufactured blade compared to the CAD model. This is difficult using a CMM system, which depends on the operator to accurately capture the points that will show whether or not the blade is twisted within the allowable tolerance. Often, there is not enough point data to make an accurate comparison. MobileScan3d is the solution , with its optional rotary table that allows turbine blades to be fully scanned automatically without operator interference, it collects may thousands of points to be used in later data anaysis.
